Versatile, reliable, and produced in staggering numbers, the Skytrain served in every theater — but its most legendary moment came on the morning of June 6, 1944, when Lt. Col. John M. Donalson’s “That’s All Brother,” adorned with iconic D-Day invasion stripes, led hundreds of C-47s dropping thousands of paratroopers along the coast of France.
